Zebra Coalition theft: Theft results in loss of items donated for need youth

Instead of celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday, Dexter Foxworth spent Thursday morning inspecting the work of thieves at his nonprofit organization’s storage unit near downtown Orlando.

Foxworth, director of the Zebra Coalition — which helps gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth — said that the insurance value of the donated clothing, hygiene items, survival kits and other supplies was less than $1,000, but that the items are desperately needed.

“Losing the clothing is really big because there were a lot of winter coats in there, and it’s already a pretty cold winter,” he said.
